Ski Racing Media took another step forward this week with the addition of two key staff members, Max Bervy, who will take on the role of managing director, and Geoff Mintz, who will serve as editor-in-chief.

Bervy is an outdoor and action-sports veteran with experience in film production, strategic partnerships, and national and global distribution. An advocate for winter sports, Bervy is committed to growing participation through alliances between ski resorts, retail, brands, media, and live events — motivating target audiences with impactful storytelling.

As producer and director of Warren Miller Films for 25 years, Bervy transformed chaotic schedules involving film crews, skiers, snowboarders, sponsors, an array of locations, logistics, and conflicting meteorological reports into annual movies, TV series, commercial productions and digital media.

Bervy looks forward to working alongside Publisher and COO Claire Brown in building partnerships around the industry.

Ski Racing Media is also pleased to announce the immediate addition of Geoff Mintz as editor-in-chief. A longtime Vail Valley local, Mintz brings more than a decade of experience in marketing communications, media and journalism, particularly within the ski racing industry.

As a young reporter, Mintz got his start working for the local newspapers in and around Vail covering sports and entertainment. From 2012 to 2015, he served as associate editor for Ski Racing Media covering both the men’s and women’s alpine circuits. He has also worked on assignments for SKI Magazine, Powder Magazine, ESPN Action Sports, and Relix.

In 2016, Mintz reconnected with his local roots, serving on the Ski & Snowboard Club Vail management team handling all communications and marketing for the organization. He advised on several successful capital campaigns and managed all communications related to the Golden Peak Expansion and SSCV Clubhouse redevelopment project.

“Our vision for Ski Racing Media is to provide a digital publication that speaks to the current issues, trends, and hot topics within our sport — to go well beyond simply reporting race results and breaking news,” said Mintz. “We want to tell the stories behind the stories and begin a discussion about how to provide true fundamental skill development in the United States.”

Additionally, Mackenzie Moran has been promoted to associate editor. Ski Racing looks forward to her continued contributions and reporting from the Alpine World Cup with a focus on the women’s circuit.

Chairman Dan Leever said, “We are confident this new leadership will put us in the best position to work towards our mission.”
