Storm Klomhaus undergoes knee surgery

Storm Klomhaus tore her ACL last week while training in Soelden. Yesterday, she received surgery at Vail Valley Surgical Center, in which she had a bone graft and loose cartilage was removed. She will have to wait about four months for that to heal before she undergoes her third ACL reconstruction and cartilage transplant. Unfortunately, this is not her first rodeo when it comes to knee surgeries.

“I’ve been through this before, and right now it really hurts to be here again, but I know what it takes to get back. I’ll fight hard and I know I’ll be back and better than ever.”

Klomhaus is a member of the US Ski Team and previously skied for the University of Denver. She knows what it takes to ski at a high level, and how to come back from an injury. She has a lot of work to do to get back on skis, but she has the support of the US Ski Team and many others while she takes on this unexpected challenge.
