Women’s races in Maribor moved to Kranjska Gora

Due to a lack of snow, the women’s races originally scheduled in Maribor, Slovenia for January 16-17 have been moved to Kranjska Gora with the same dates and with the same starting times, the FIS announced Friday.

Rain and high temperatures have eaten away much of the snow in Maribor. FIS snow controllers assessed the situation and canceled both races. The program now shifts to Kranjska Gora, where the problem is not a lack of snow but the challenge to harden the race surface where fresh snow has fallen.
