Austria’s top U16s finish conditioning camp in Obertraun

The most promising male and female U16 athletes in Austria spent the first week of August at an intense conditioning camp sponsored by the dairy company NÖM held at the Obertraun National Sports and Recreation Center (NSRC).

In addition to numerous conditioning sessions, the main focus of the camp was teaching sport-specific training content. Supporting the mission of “training to learn”, athletes underwent sports science testing interwoven with practical exercise instruction in and around NSRC Obertraun.

All athletes received a comprehensive overview of their health status and specific recommendations for further optimization that can be achieved with practical training sessions. Some of the tests challenged their function movement, barbell lifting technique, shuttle run speed and more. There was time for play as well utilizing the newly designed bike park, mountain bike routes in the Salzkammergut region, and nearby Lake Hallstatt for swimming.
