DNA Vibe is making waves among ski racers

Although you’d never know it watching him tear down the course, Rob Cone was struggling between the two World Pro Ski Tour races at Steamboat Springs this February. He pulled out all the stops to beat his final opponent (Garret Driller) in dramatic fashion in the first race and was dominating the following day until he injured his back launching out of the gate during qualifiers. It left him doubled over with pain between heats and seriously questioning whether he could carry on.

“I tweaked my back so bad, I couldn’t ski,” Cone said. “Everyone seemed to count me out. I went off to use my DNA Vibe to help ease the pain, loosen up and recover. I was not only able to come back, I was able to win it all.”

Cone went on to sweep the remaining 2021 WPST races and wrapped up the season undefeated, earning the tour championship title for the second year straight.

The DNA Vibe Jazz Band that helped Cone get back on the podium is an Intelligent Light Therapy pain management device designed and manufactured in Colorado to reduce pain, accelerate recovery, and improve performance.

Although DNA Vibe came to the rescue for Cone, helping him overcome his back pain and blaze ahead to another race victory, emergency injury recovery is not among its intended uses, but certainly serves as evidence of its capabilities. The device has been proven to help a large demographic of users with a broad swath of issues and ailments.

“From professional athletes, to weekend warriors, to grandparents — we’re energized every day by helping people live better lives by doing more of what they love to do, at a higher level, for a longer time. That’s why I started DNA Vibe and that’s the driving force behind the company. We want to make the world a better place one better life at a time,” says DNA Vibe co-founder and CEO Perry Kamel.

The origins of Vibe science

Kamel, who has spent much of his life building large-scale businesses and also has a background in particle and optical physics, started DNA Vibe about four years ago when he was first introduced to the concept of light therapies by a friend. Because of Kamel’s technical background, he immediately saw opportunities to improve upon the existing technologies and create an entirely new category called Intelligent Light Therapy.

“With DNA Vibe, we’ve made tremendous strides in terms of understanding and optimizing conventional light therapies. We call it Intelligent Light Therapy and it’s a huge step forward,” Kamel says. “Because of our proprietary understanding of the science we know that effectiveness is primarily a function of frequency precision rather than power. As a result, we’ve been able to optimize our products to minimize output power which makes our technology more effective, easier to use and even safer than conventional methods. Not only that, we use four complimentary modes to maximize the effectiveness even further.”

Specifically, DNA Vibe promotes expansion of blood vessels and cellular oxygenation, which aids blood flow. Improved circulation leads to de-inflammation of tissue, which can relieve pain and swelling and helps synthesize amino acids, proteins, and stem cells to restore and replenish healthy tissue, leading to better performance.

But how do you actually use it?

The DNA Vibe Jazz Band is extremely flexible and is housed in a soft pouch and attached with a comfortable elastic band. It emits safe and effective levels of red light, near infrared, magnetic signals when activated through an easy to use phone app. The band wraps easily around the body part in need of healing, or pain relief – typically the knee, elbow, ankle, neck or back. Best results are achieved after using the product for 30 minutes, twice a day for 10 to 14 days.

Sam Shaheen joined DNA Vibe in 2019 as marketing director. With a background in chemical microbiology, he understood and immediately got behind the product’s science. As an elite skier and avid rock climber, he has also become a regular user.

“Bouldering is hard on your hands and fingers, especially the joints,” he says. “After a 15-minute Vibe session, my joints feel amazingly better. I get occasional back issues from muscle spasms associated with wearing heavy backpacks and taking falls on the slopes. I’ve had a great response there, too. Due to the nature of our technology, we are able to help people with a huge variety of issues. It’s extremely rewarding and exciting to be able to help people thrive.”

DNA Vibe is gaining traction with active individuals of all ages and athletic levels. The testimonies range from nurses who claim the device has helped them recover from arthroscopic knee surgery to recreational athletes who say it eliminated their tennis elbow. The device is especially making waves – quite literally – in the ski racing world. Having become a partner of the World Pro Ski Tour, it is being used by more and more skiers to help them prepare better and recover faster to maximize performance on the hill.

“Our whole company is energized every day by the fact that 97 percent of our customers have positive results,” Shaheen says. “We hear from young people performing better in the sports they love, senior citizens able to be more active and individuals who recover faster from a surgery, injury, or life’s daily aches and pains. It’s been a joy.”
