Ginnis, Radamus, Winters among stacked field at World Pro Ski Tour Sunday, Monday

The World Pro Ski Tour is preparing for the Reven Cup and Colorado Pro Open races at Echo Mountain Sunday and Monday, March 28-29. The athlete roster will now include notable World Cup competitors AJ Ginnis, River Radamus and Luke Winters.

Ginnis, who has previously competed on the WPST, races full-time on the World Cup circuit. A Greek-American dual-citizen, Ginnis was a member of the U.S. Ski Team from 2012-2018 and now races for Greece. This season, he celebrated his career-best 11th place finish at the World Cup slalom in Flachau, Austria.

“I’m stoked to return to the World Pro Ski Tour,” says AJ Ginnis, who just arrived back in the U.S. from World Cup Finals. “The races at Echo Mountain this weekend will be a great opportunity for me to stay competitive on the snow and hopefully earn some money.”

Also joining the Tour at Echo will be two-time world junior champion River Radamus, who is coming off a productive season with six World Cup top 30s and an 11th-place finish in the world championship giant slalom, plus eighth in the parallel and sixth in the team parallel.

“After a long World Cup season, I’m thrilled to finally see what the World Pro Ski Tour has to offer,” said Radamus. “I love the head-to-head format, and look forward to doing battle against this strong field.”

Rounding out the World Cup representation, slalom ace Luke Winters will make his Tour debut. Winters is also coming off a strong season in Europe where he picked up a pair of World Cup top 30s — 23rd in Adelboden and 19th in Chamonix, which matched a career best.

“Looking forward to competing in my first Pro Tour this weekend,” said Winters. “After a long season in Europe it will be nice to take a swing at the Pro Tour myself, especially after watching it for the past couple years. It’s a great opportunity for ski racers to make money and enjoy the sport of ski racing as long as they can, and I’m excited to be a part of that.”

Also among the field is University of Colorado standout Max Bervy, who notably eliminated double-Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety at the WPST Colorado Pro Open in 2020.

“The World Pro Ski Tour is super excited to welcome three more racers who are recognized as being among the world’s best,” said Jon J Franklin, CEO of the WPST. “We can’t wait to watch these current World Cup athletes square off in our dual super slalom races at Echo Mountain so close to Denver.” 

The WPST brings some of the world’s fastest professional dual ski racers together each season, including world championship medalist, Phil Brown, NCAA All-Americans, U.S. national parallel slalom champion Garret Driller, and more .
