Keller leaves USSA development position

PARK CITY, Utah – Dr. Lester Keller, who has served in a variety of domestic alpine program positions over the last 24 years, is leaving his position as U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association Western Region and RockyCentral Alpine Director to go into private consulting with clubs. Keller, who came to the USSA from a coaching position at the University of Utah in the early 1990s, has served in a variety of athletic development and sports psychology roles.

Keller1_LesterKeller plans to use his skills in working with athletes and clubs, opening a club consulting service called Journey Sports Consulting.

“Lester has made a difference for athletes in his tenure here and we wish him all the best,” said USSA Alpine Director Patrick Riml.

In his more than two decades with USSA, Keller’s primary work had been with club programs in the USSA Western Region, as well as a stint as national development director. He was also involved in providing sports psychology services to national team athletes.

Riml indicated that the USSA plans to hire a new regional director and is presently looking at candidates as well as program structure.
