Cold temperatures and snowfall North of the Arctic Circle in Levi, Finland, bode well for the opening slalom races of the 2020 World Cup season on November 23 and 24.

Strong winter conditions over the past week have allowed preparations for the World Cup to accelerate. Temperatures have crept into the -20 celsius range and the Black Slope where the races are held is already in darkness for most of the day and is able to hold snow better than many areas in Central Europe where the majority of the World Cup season is held.

According to reports, the official FIS snow control scheduled for November 14 will be a nothing more than a formality. Racing in Levi is scheduled for the women on November 23 and the men on November 24.
