Sean Higgins, a 2013 University of Vermont (UVM) graduate and Lake Tahoe native, has joined the staff at SkiRacing.com as an associate editor covering the men’s FIS Alpine World Cup tour as well as the domestic scene.

“Sean’s outstanding racing and coaching background will add invaluable perspective and insight to our content,” said Ski Racing International Chief Operating Officer Claire Abbe Brown regarding the new hire. “His work ethic, energy, and commitment to quality is a natural fit for our passionate team that prides itself on delivering informative, insightful, authentic content.”

Higgins was a key member of the 2012 NCAA title-winning Catamounts squad and also earned first team All-American status in 2013. Holding a bachelor’s degree in political science and government, he spent the 2014-15 season as a U14 coach with the Squaw Valley Ski Team and was also a contributing writer for SkiRacing.com.

“I’m very excited to join the staff at Ski Racing so I can share my passion for the sport in a new and exciting way. Being a part of a publication that I have enjoyed reading since I was young is truly an honor and something that I greatly look forward to,” remarked Higgins.

He collected a total of 10 FIS University podium results while racing for UVM and was a regular scorer on the NorAm circuit in slalom and GS from 2010-2014. Higgins finished ninth in the 2013 U.S. National Championship GS at Squaw Valley, a race won by the U.S. Ski Team’s Tim Jitloff.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled for Sean and the future of Ski Racing International as we continue to evolve our digital media offerings while remaining a vital resource for the snowsport community,” concluded Brown.
