BREAKING: Men’s Downhill in Garmisch Cancelled

The men’s World Cup downhill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, was cancelled on Saturday morning due to heavy, wet snowfall and poor visibility.

Organizers made the call to move the start down to the reserve super-G start due to overnight snowfall before inspection. Weather continued to worsen throughout the morning. Large, wet snowflakes combined with low-lying fog and forced the decision to cancel the race a little less than an hour before the scheduled start time of 11:30am CET.

A replacement race will be announced once that decision has been made.

The men are now scheduled to race giant slalom in Garmisch on Sunday, February 3.
