2016 World Cup overall winner Lara Gut has decided to return to racing at Soelden after her training at Diavolezza.

“Since my injury, my primary goal was to come back strongly and not to put pressure on me,” Gut explained. “That’s why I never talked about Soelden. ”

Just under two months ago, she started training again after her knee injury in February. In September, Gut said she did not plan to start in the first race of the season. The training went better than planned. For this reason, together with her team, she decided to return to the World Cup on Sat. Oct 28 and participate in the giant slalom race.

“Every day I used to prepare myself for the winter,” she said. “Since September everything went according to plan and therefore I decided to start tomorrow. Sure, the preparations were different than usual. Normally, we had prepared ourselves a month before Soelden. For me, it is important to be at the start tomorrow to see how I and my knee are reacting to the race. This experience will help me throughout the winter.”
