The speed ladies of the FIS Alpine World Cup will return to Bad Kleinkirchheim, Austria, for the first time in two years and only the second time since 2006 to contest a downhill and super G on Jan. 10 and 11 after the venue passed official snow control on Sunday afternoon.

Lindsey Vonn is poised to possibly claim her 62nd World Cup victory at the venue, at which time she will tie Austrian Annemarie Moser-Proell for the most alpine World Cup wins by a female in history. Vonn’s best result on the Kaernten – Franz Klammer piste was a fourth-place finish in the 2012 downhill there.

The women’s speed circuit has been on holiday break since completing the Val d’Isere series on Dec. 21, and Bad Kleinkirchheim will serve as their first race in the new year.
