XC races canceled in Czech resort

Two World Cup ski jumping races scheduled for next week were canceled Friday due to warm weather and lack of snow.

PRAGUE, Czech Republic — Two World Cup ski jumping races scheduled for next week were canceled Friday due to warm weather and lack of snow.
Events spokeswoman Lenka Vratna said unusually warm temperatures prevented artificial snow from being created to cover the hill in the northern Czech ski resort of Harrachov for the Dec 9-10 races.
Vratna said FIS was considering moving them to Scandinavia, but that no decision had been made yet.
