The potential for an additional quota spot has delayed the announcement of the U.S. Olympic Alpine Team.
An announcement was scheduled for 5pm eastern time from the U.S. Ski Team, announcing the racers they would ask the U.S. Olympic Committee to approve. Shortly before the scheduled announcement the team issued a media alert indicating the announcement would be delayed “to Tuesday.”
The team is expecting to make the announcement at 9am Tuesday. In an email from US Ski Team Vice President of Communications Tom Kelley, he said the team was anticipating “additional quotas.”
