Who is skiing, when and how to watch the Sunday, March 19th Soldeu slalom
The men’s slalom final will be the last race of the 2022-23 World Cup season.
Only the 25 top-ranked men have been invited to race in Sunday’s slalom World Cup final in Soldeu, Andorra. Additionally, the Junior World Champion from each discipline is qualified to race in their event.
Unfortunately, due to the knee injury sustained at the World Championships, Norway’s Atle Lie McGrath will be unable to compete, however, Italy’s Junior World slalom Champion Corado Barbera will be racing in his first career World Cup.
Soldeu will feature the four men who still have a mathematical chance to earn the season slalom title. However, it will most likely be Norway’s Lucas Braathen or Henrik Kristoffersen who will accept the globe. Additionally, Swiss racers Daniel Yule and Ramon Zenhaeusern have a highly unlikely but possible opportunity but they would need a double Norwegian collapse.

Snow Conditions
As predicted the precipitation and fog have arrived in Soldeu. Unfortunately, it will insulate the warm snow and cause a situation that will require chemicals for both runs. Expect the courses to deteriorate and get slower during the race. However, with good skiing, the conditions should give the early second-run starters an opportunity to move into the top 15 and score valuable World Cup points.
North American men did not qualify to race in the Soldeu SL final.
The first run will begin at 5:30 am Eastern Time and 2:30 am on the West Coast. The second run will start at 8:30 am Eastern Time and 5:30 am on the West Coast.
In the USA, the World Cup final Soldeu slalom can be viewed live and replayed on Ski and Snowboard Live.
In Canada, CBC sports offers Alpine World Cup racing content.
