Tristan Lane: Racing Dreams and Entrepreneurial Ambitions

Stöckli/SYNC athlete Tristan Lane, a product of Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club, is carving out his path as an independent ski racer with a deep passion for speed events. After competing for the University of Denver for four years, he’s now focused on the European circuits with impressive results in super-G and downhill. His current world rankings stand at 107 in downhill and 74 in super-G.

On the Europa Cup circuit, Lane has earned seven scoring results, including an 8th-place finish in the Santa Caterina super-G last December—his most significant accomplishment. That result secured him a World Cup start in Kvitfjell, Norway, last February, marking a breakthrough. “Racing in Kvitfjell was a dream come true. I feel like I’m getting better daily, which keeps me motivated,” Lane said.

Building Propheski

Lane is channeling his entrepreneurial drive off the slopes into Propheski, , a fantasy ski racing app he developed after noticing the lack of platforms for ski fans. “I played fantasy ski racing with friends on shared spreadsheets,” Lane shared. “I realized there wasn’t an easy way to do it, so I built one.”

Latest Improvements

Propheski has become highly interactive by providing users with detailed information about athletes. “Now, when you pick an athlete, you can see their rankings, results, and more, all in one place,” Lane explained. The improvements for this season enhance the experience for fans who want to dive deeper into the sport.

Balancing Racing and Business

For Lane, balancing his ski career with the development of Propheski has been both challenging and rewarding. “It’s like solving puzzles every day. It stimulates another part of my brain,” he said. The app has grown, with an international user base, and Lane is launching a social media challenge this season, offering prize money to boost engagement. “I hope this challenge gets more people involved and helps spread the word about Propheski,” he added.

Looking Ahead

As Lane continues to advance in his ski racing and entrepreneurial ventures, his goals are clear: to make fantasy ski racing a staple in the sport and become a regular on the World Cup circuit. “I want Propheski to be the go-to platform for ski racing fans, and for myself, I aim to compete in the World Cup at the highest level,” Lane said.

Propheski is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, offering fans a unique way to engage with their favorite sport. Lane invites new players to join the Propheski league this season and be part of the growing community. “If you’re a fan of ski racing, give it a try—it’s a fun way to follow the races and test your knowledge of the athletes,” he said.
