Alpine Program Director
Position Details
- Title: Alpine Program Director
- Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
- Reports to: Executive Director
- Salary: $130,000 + benefits

Job Objective
- Lead AVSC’s competitive Alpine program
- Maintain and grow a premier, nationally recognized program
- Oversee complex, year-round training across multiple mountains
- Ensure athlete development, program health, and alignment with AVSC values
Scope
- Oversees:
- ~200 athletes
- ~30 seasonal staff
- Budget responsibility: ~$1.3M
- Works with:
- Aspen Skiing Company staff
- AVSC Board & Program Committee
- USSA, FIS, RMD officials
- Schools, parents, volunteers
Core Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Strategy
- Define training philosophy and athlete pathway (U10 → Post-Grad)
- Ensure program consistency and progression
- Maintain overall health of the Alpine program
- Ensure programs are fun and aligned with AVSC values
Coaching & Staff Management
- Hire, train, and evaluate all staff
- Provide professional development pathways
- Ensure coaches understand and deliver AVSC values
- Document annual coach training
Athlete Development
- Support athletes reaching highest levels of competition
- Recruit post-graduate athletes
- Ensure end-of-season athlete evaluations
Operations & Logistics
- Coordinate training venues with ASC
- Plan and schedule competitions
- Manage guest athlete participation and fees
- Organize summer on-snow training
Safety & Risk Management
- Train staff in risk management (on-hill + vehicles)
- Track and analyze safety incidents
- Enforce code of conduct
Communication & Stakeholder Relations
- Manage parent communication and expectations
- Lead end-of-season parent debriefs
- Maintain relationships with:
- USSA / RMD
- Other clubs
Budget & Financial Management
- Develop and manage annual budget
- Meet enrollment and retention goals
- Adjust programming to meet financial targets
Administrative
- Document program delivery annually
- Support program guides and enrollment materials
Other
- Assist with fundraising
- Participate in club-wide initiatives
- Complete special projects
Physical & On-Hill Requirements
- Lift/carry 50–75 lbs
- Work in harsh weather
- Ski competently with equipment
- Demonstrate drills and technical skills
- Free ski entire mountain
Coaching rules:
- Carry limited loads (gates, netting, etc.)
- Wear helmet and protective gear
- No forerunning
- No jumps/rails
- Stay within ability limits
- Coaching during freeski time
Marketing and Communications Manager
Position Details
- Title: Marketing and Communications Manager
- Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
- Reports to: Stewardship Director
- Salary: $75,000
Job Objective
- Lead all marketing and communications efforts
- Elevate AVSC’s brand and visibility
- Tell a compelling, consistent story across all channels
- Engage athletes, families, donors, and community

- Share weekly competition results
- Coordinate internal communications
Media & PR
- Act as primary media contact
- Build relationships with media outlets
- Write and distribute press releases
- Manage editorial content (e.g., Clubhouse Chronicles)
Digital & Social Media
- Lead Instagram & Facebook strategy
- Manage website (teamavsc.org)
- Track and analyze engagement metrics
Events & Community Engagement
- Promote events and initiatives
- Support ticketing and sponsorship activation
- Drive community outreach
Systems & Data Management
- Manage communication platforms:
- CampMinder
- Bloomerang
- Constant Contact
- Organize photo/video library
Collaboration & Education
- Work with athletes/staff on content creation
- Build internal marketing knowledge
Other
- Support club operations
- Complete additional assigned duties
