Sugarloaf in Maine will host both the U.S. National Championships and U16 National Championships in 2015.

PARK CITY, Utah – After three years in Park City, Utah, the U16 National Championships is moving to Sugarloaf, Maine, for the 2015 event. The championships will take place March 30-April 4, 2015 and will feature 96 athletes selected from regional and divisional championships.

“We look forward to bringing the best U16 racers in the country to Sugarloaf to compete right after the U.S. Nationals,” said USSA Alpine Director Patrick Riml. “It is very important for the development of these young racers to come together in head-to-head competition from all over the country, and for our top coaches to see the level of skiing in this age group.”

For the first time, the championship event will include a super G race in addition to the giant slalom and slalom. As in past years, there will also be an assessment project including a day of freeskiing and a day of SkillsQuest assessment by U.S. Ski Team coaches. Sugarloaf is a legendary Eastern race venue that has hosted multiple NorAm Cup races and national championships. In March 2015, Sugarloaf is again slated to host both NorAm Finals super G and downhill events and the U.S. National Championships.
