Pat Duran named US Racing and Team Manager for HEAD/Tyrolia
BOULDER, Colo. – HEAD/Tyrolia, the fastest growing ski brand in the USA for each of the past three winters, welcomes Pat Duran as U.S. Racing and Team Manager. In his new role, Duran will be managing HEAD USA’s prestigious racing program including both sponsorship and product. He will also work closely with HEAD’s Austrian Race department to coordinate excellent service for both retailers and US-based HEAD athletes.
“Pat has lived and breathed ski racing his entire life. As an alumnus of both the Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS) and University of Colorado ski teams, as well as his tenure with other premiere ski brands, his pedigree is perfectly suited for this position. We’re confident Pat will bring tremendous value to HEAD retailers and the brand,” said Jon Rucker, Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We look forward to his leadership in growing HEAD’s race business in the U.S. while simultaneously focusing on the success of each and every one of HEAD’s athletes and specialty race retailers.”
A native of North Fayston, Vt., Duran has more than two decades of top-notch experience in the industry, most recently having worked for Völkl, Marker, and Dalbello.
“HEAD is renowned as one of the world’s leading alpine racing brands, and I’m thrilled to take on the challenges of this new adventure. I look forward to working closely with the passionate management team, the excellent retailer network, and the dedicated athletes that have led HEAD/Tyrolia to this period of exponential growth. With programs designed to support our retailers, and the leading equipment on the World Cup, we are set to provide the ideal platform for HEAD athletes to reach more podiums than ever,” commented Duran.
A former World Cup skicross athlete for the U.S. Ski Team, Duran also enjoys fly-fishing and mountain biking in his free time. He is also determined to eventually ski at every resort in the country. He will be relocating to the HEAD/Tyrolia U.S. Wintersports headquarters in Boulder, Colo., later this spring. Pat can be reached at pduran@us.head.com.
