TORINO: Alpine: Medical issues sideline Kostelic for downhill; Kildow will race{mosimage}SAN SICARIO, Italy – World Cup leader Janica Kostelic will not compete in the women’s downhill Wednesday. Kostelic skipped training yesterday because of a higher than normal pulse rate. “She will not start today for the downhill because, even though she is feeling better, they don’t want to risk anything,” said a Croatian team spokesman.

According to USOC reports, Lindsey Kildow will start in today’s downhill. Kildow was injured in Monday’s training. French skier Carole Montillet-Carles, defending downhill champion, also injured Monday, will race as well.
