August golf classic to benefit Carrabassett Valley Academy{mosimage}CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine — The 22nd annual CVA/Sugarloaf Golf Classic is scheduled for the weekend of August 25-27. The weekend’s golfing activities include a two-person scramble on Friday, a Saturday best-ball format and shoot-out special and a Sunday scramble-format tournament. 

The total tournament prize purse for the weekend is more than $5,000 through a live and silent auction available to golfers and non-golfers featuring prizes donated by Carrabassett Valley Academy supporters.

Each year approximately $50,000 is raised during the Golf Classic weekend from participants, sponsors and donors to benefit the Martha B. Webber Scholarship Fund. Webber’s personal commitment to CVA was a driving force behind the founding and development of the academy. The scholarship fund has been established in her memory to help deserving student-athletes from Maine aspire to their athletic and academic goals at CVA.
