Mount Hood facilities open despite intense wildfires
Mount Hood facilities open despite intense wildfires{mosimage}GOVERNMENT CAMP, Oregon — While more than 400 firefighters are containing wildfires, Government Camp businesses, including the Adventure Park at Mount Hood Skibowl and Collins Lake Resort, are open for business. The facilities are safely located six miles east of the fires, which are moving easterly away from businesses in Government Camp.
“There’s no danger up here in Government Camp,” said Robb Hutson, marketing director at Collins Lake Resort Vacations in Government Camp. “The wildfires are being contained and pose no threat to the west.” We encourage families and friends to take a trip to the mountain, where cooler temperatures and fun make for a fun-filled day.
In addition to alpine racing training, Mount Hood offers the Adventure Park at Mount Hood Skibowl that features more than 20 activities, including alpine slides, interpretive hiking trails and horseback rides.
