THE SECOND ANNUAL Donald F. Weese Memorial Golf Classic, celebrating the life of a Westchester Country, New York, ski racer and multisport athlete, will be held Thursday, June 21, at Centennial Golf Club in upstate New York.
The Donald F. Weese Foundation honors Weese, who passed away at the age of 28 in 2005. The foundation raises money to help fund depression research and to fund a scholarship to a worthy high school student-athlete.
Weese was an exemplary student-athlete at Yorktown High School, and in the mid-1990s he excelled at skiing, football and lacrosse. Outside the athletic arena, Weese was a leader and a caring, sensitive human being. The one battle he could not overcome was the battle against depression, which ultimately claimed his life.
