COLORADO SKI COUNTRY USA, the not-for-profit trade association representing 26 Colorado ski and snowboard resorts, has announced the appointment of Amy Kemp as communications director.
With more than 10 years of public relations, marketing and events experience, Kemp joins an experienced CSCUSA team that is focused on sustaining Colorado’s 12 million skier-visit benchmark achieved in the past two ski and snowboard seasons. To accomplish this, CSCUSA’s communications department will continue to effectively position Colorado as the industry leader and as the premier winter destination for skiers and riders.
“The CSCUSA team and its 26 member resorts have been instrumental in building a tremendous amount of momentum for the Colorado brand right now,” said Rob Perlman, president and chief executive officer of CSCUSA. “With the addition of Amy to the team, we feel as if we have the right players in place to continue our past success. We will continue to enhance our efforts to address safety and environmental issues and also foster growth in areas like our new multicultural outreach initiative and an expanded international public relations program.”
According to Perlman, Kemp will work with Colorado’s 26 world-class ski and snowboard resorts to generate positive exposure for the Colorado ski industry. More specifically, Kemp will join CSCUSA as the organization launches two initiatives to continue to attract new skiers and snowboarders to the slopes — a statewide Learn to Ski and Snowboard program in January and an industry effort to promote diversity on the slopes.
Kemp is highly familiar with CSCUSA, as most recently she was the senior communications manager at Keystone Resort in Colorado. She also has experience as the Keystone marketing manager, the business manager for the nonprofit Keystone Neighborhood Company and a reporter for the Summit Daily News.
Kemp is an avid skier who is hoping to learn some tricks on her first-ever snowboard. She will relocate to the Denver-based CSCUSA office in late October from Summit County, Colo.
