Jit's Journal: Gearing up for Beaver Creek GS
As of right now I am back in Colorado after my Thanksgiving break and just getting into the swing of things with the NorAm series. Over the break it was nice to spend some down time with my family while also stuffing my face with some home cooking. It means a lot to any athlete when they can get a few precious moments of rest on the home turf before the season really gets under way. I took full advantage of the opportunity to get some rest and catch up on my time zones.

Now, the first of four NorAms have already taken place, and it was an interesting race to say the least. Besides Kalle Pallander crushing the race, the rest of the field was really tight together. I had a good day going after a solid first run but made one bad mistake on the second run and that was enough to take me out of the race for the day. The great thing is that I keep learning and remembering things in my skiing that I think can really make a difference as I progress further into the season and that is something positive to take away.
(Editor’s note: Tim finished ninth in the second GS at Keystone on Tuesday, and followed that with a seventh in slalom Wednesday at Winter Park).
My week will finish off with the World Cup GS in Beaver Creek on Sunday, and that is the race I am really focused on doing well. At the end of the day I want to do well in any race I enter, but I am really excited about this one because it is on home soil and I have never raced a World Cup in the U.S. So for now I must leave you readers out there because things are a bit hectic for me as the season is just starting, but hopefully I will have a journal for you next week that has a little more detail as to the goings on out here Colorado.
Till then… Jit
