PRAGUE, Czech Republic — Nikolay Morilov of Russia and Arianna Follis of Italy won the men's and women's sprint races in the Tour de Ski on Sunday.
Morilov finished the 1-kilometer freestyle race in 1 minute, 35.8 seconds, edging Norway's Simen Ostensen by 0.3 seconds.
However, Ostensen overtook the overall lead in the tour, 12.1 seconds ahead of Lukas Bauer of the Czech Republic. Tor Arne Hetland of Norway was third Sunday and is also third overall, 14.9 seconds back.
Sunday's sprints were the third leg of the second edition of the Tour de Ski after its inauguration last year. The tour includes eight races in 10 days, and the overall time winner gets 400 World Cup points.
Bauer won Friday's opening classic race and followed that up with a 15 km freestyle win on Saturday. Norway's Marit Bjorgen won Saturday's 10 km freestyle race to seize the overall women's lead.
The winner of each race also gets another 50 points, on the condition that they complete all races of the demanding tour.
Sunday, Follis covered the women's 1-kilometer course in 1:50.5, ahead of Pirjo Muranen of Finland and Bjorgen. Bjorgen still leads the overall standings, 9.4 seconds ahead of Follis. Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland is third overall, 22.0 seconds back.
The races took place in front of the Prague Castle at the heart of the Czech capital.
The tour continues with men's and women's freestyle pursuit events on Tuesday at the Czech resort of Nove Mesto na Morave.
