J3-East: Vietze wins again, Gilbert takes GS

Sandy Vietze collected his second gold medal of the Eastern JIII Junior Olympics when he added the GS win to the slalom from the previous day. Vietze skis out of Vermont's Mad River program and outsped local family hero Sam Macomber to the finish beam by nearly a half second. Cody Overell, a New York state skier helped spread the interest around by claiming third.
The women's race was all Vermont, as state representatives swept the top six places led by Elle Gilbert, more than a second ahead of the field. Second went to slalom winner Makenzie Brown and Sarah Burns in third.
