It was an all-Canadian podium, topped by Stefan Guay with teammates Tyler Nella and Louis-Pierre Hélie in second and third respectively.

“It’s a step in the right direction,” Guay says. “This is a confidence boost before I start skiing some more World Cups.”

It was the first Coupe Nor-Am Cup podium of Nella’s career, while Hélie was on the podium for the third consecutive race in Lake Louise.

The women’s podium was a case of déjà vu. American Alice McKennis finished first, with Kelly McBroom just 0.10 seconds back and Georgia Simmerling placing third. All three were on the podium in all three days of Nor-Am downhill and super G races in Lake Louise.

The Northwest Funds Coupe Nor-Am Cup goes to Panorama for men’s and ladies super G, super combined and giant slalom races beginning on Sunday.
