Program Goals and Responsibilities

The Alpine Program Director is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the alpine program activities of the Bridger Ski Foundation in Bozeman, MT. The Alpine PD reports directly to and works closely with the Executive Director and collaborates regularly with the BSF Board of Directors, other Program Directors, alpine coaching staff, alpine committee, office staff, and the general BSF community.

●  Proven record of leadership.

●  Have excellent communication both in person and in writing, including interpersonal and relationship-building skills to effectively work with a variety of people and personalities.

●  Proven ability to lead multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously, meeting all related deadlines; plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work; work unsupervised and make decisions and solve problems independently, effectively and creatively.

●  Work well under pressure. Maintain a thorough, organized and detail-oriented approach to work.

●  Present, inform and motivate individuals and groups about BSF’s mission to recruit and retain athletes and coaches.

Program Director Duties

  1. Develop and maintain organizational structure of BSF Alpine programs.
  2. With coaching staff, develop and implement short and long term athlete development plan and progression, to include dry-land, programs and schedules for all teams, development of summer, Thanksgiving and Christmas camps and regular season training and competition schedules. Oversee skill development progression for each team.
  3. Coaching: Alpine PD will coach athletes on the hill and in dryland training.
  4. Develop, prepare, and be accountable to the annual budget for Alpine programs.
  5. Develop and implement short and long term strategic plans, to include 1, 3, 5 year plans/goals. Review strategic plan with ED and Board annually. Communicate plans to parents, athletes, and coaching staff.
  6. Develop and maintain facilities, equipment, automobiles, venues, supplies, and transportation necessary for training and race events.
  7. Work with Alpine Committee and BSF Development office to procure and cultivate sponsors and donors for Alpine programs.
  8. Implement USSS Coaching Certification programs.
  9. Organize and manage the procurement of ski equipment and team uniforms for athletes.
  10. Participate in the registration systems of BSF Alpine ski program participants, working with the office to update program guides, website, and handbooks.
  11. Communicate effectively with parents and athletes in all programs.
  12. Coordinate marketing activities for BSF Alpine ski programs.
  13. Co-coordinate and manage BSF Alpine events: races, camps, other training events.
  14. Co-coordinate and cultivate race officials and volunteers for BSF races.
  15. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Bridger Bowl operations. Prompt and timely communication to Bridger Bowl management of needs for and changes to training/competition schedule and other mountain operation details.
  16. Follow and enforce all Bridger Bowl directives among athletes and alpine staff.
  17. Gather and publish via email and or website results, training schedules, competition schedules, travel info and general info on BSF Alpine team. Ensure all content on Alpine web pages and emails is up to date.
  18. Contribute to BSF newsletters, annual reports, and other publications as requested.
  19. Participating in all multi-discipline BSF events and BSF fundraisers Alpine PD must attend BSF fundraising events, social events, and other functions when requested, and interface with sponsors, donors, coaches, athletes, parents and media.
  20. When requested attend BSF board meetings. 

Time Commitment/Benefits

●  Full Time position, with flexible PTO, especially in off season

●  Starting date: July 2024 (preferred)

●  Compensation: $50,000-$55,000: Room for growth by meeting enrollment and financial goals

●  Eligible for health care package and 401k with 4% match
