Guido Heuber: From Aspiring World Cup Ski Racer to a World-Famous Man Behind the Mic

In this episode, brought to you by Ski Racing Media, Skiing is Believing had a fabulous conversation with the German Eurosport commentator, Guido Heuber.

He talks through his journey to journalistic success, from being part of the German alpine squad to recommending a radio broadcaster to improving their ski racing knowledge to the top job in the sport.

We also discussed the changes that Guido has witnessed within the sport over many years in the commentary box. We talk in-depth about the current FIS World Cup scene and the incredible season we have all sincerely enjoyed.

Alan Rigg and I (Matt Garcka) had the opportunity to ask a senior skiing commentator several questions, including who his favorite racer is and the best race he watched, amongst many, many more.

He also shared his excitement about the 2025 Saalbach World Championships, where we believe that Guido will make the 15-minute cycle from his home to the resort for his commentary work there in February.
