DENVER — The 2026 NCAA Skiing Championships will move from Bozeman, Montana, to Utah due to a lack of snow, with alpine races now scheduled at Utah Olympic Park in Park City and Nordic events at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway.

The Nordic races for next week’s 2026 RMISA Championships have also been relocated to Soldier Hollow. However, the RMISA alpine events will remain at Bridger Bowl Ski Area in Bozeman, and Montana State will continue to serve as the host institution for the conference meet.

“The NCAA Championships are the premier event of the year for our skiing student-athletes, and while we are unable to compete in Montana as we had planned, the skiing committee is very appreciative for all the efforts that Montana State University has made to prepare for a successful championship,” said Jim Dwyer, NCAA committee chair and director of skiing and head coach of alpine skiing at Dartmouth. “The unprecedented lack of snow has forced the championships to Utah, where we are confident that we will have the championship event that we have become accustomed to having. I want to thank both Montana State and the University of Utah for their efforts as we navigate this change of venue.”

The lack of snow at Crosscut Mountain Sports Center, originally slated to host the Nordic races, ultimately prompted the venue change for both the conference and national championship meets.

Dates and event schedules remain unchanged. The RMISA Championships are set for Feb. 26–28, followed by the NCAA Championships from March 11–14.

Utah last hosted the NCAA National Collegiate Skiing Championships in 2022. The relocation does not affect a previously announced plan for Utah to host the 2028 NCAA Championships.

Montana State had been scheduled to host the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2020, when the event was canceled midway through due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
