Who is racing, when and how to watch the Friday, March 19th Soldeu GS

The season’s top-ranked women have been invited to race in Sunday’s giant slalom World Cup finals in Soldeu, Andorra. Additionally, the Junior World Champion from each discipline is qualified to race in their event. The top 25 GS women, Michelle Gisin, using her 500+ point privilege and the Junior World Champion, will all compete.

Sweden’s Junior World Champion Hanna Elfman Aronsson is a young World Cup star and ranked 9th in the World Cup slalom standing, but after a full season racing World Cup GS, she failed to qualify for a second run. Tomorrow she will have to be top 15 to rectify the situation.

Tomorrow will also be the last time Mikaela Shiffrin ski races this season. She enters the final day of World Cup racing, having won the overall, slalom and giant slalom season titles. The giant slalom world champion has also won 13 World Cups during the 2022-23 season and six of those have been GSs.

No matter how she skis, she will receive the GS and overall globe in the final award ceremony.

However, being the best doesn’t mean you always win. There are many talented hungry women entered in the season’s final, and the racing will undoubtedly be exciting.
