As Alpine ski racing enthusiasts eagerly embrace the holiday spirit, the Murphy Roberts Holiday Classic on Howelsen Hill in Steamboat Springs delivered a night of exhilarating competition under the lights.

Moving from the buildup to the event, the night slalom at Howelsen Hill was a fun, festive, and fast spectacle. The cheering crowd was greeted by none other than Santa himself, skiing down the course to kick off the night festivities.

Women:

The women’s event was a captivating display of skill, with Sara Rask from the University of Denver securing the top spot. SSWSC’s Tatum Grosdidier showcased her prowess, securing a commendable 5th place in the tightly contested race.

Men:

The men’s competition was a tight battle under the night sky, culminating in a victory for Camden Palmquist from the U.S. Ski Team. With over 16 colleges represented, the competition showcased the spirited love for skiing exemplified by Murphy Roberts.

Generosity and Recognition:

Hig and Cassidy Roberts, in honor of their brother Murphy Roberts, presented two $1,000 scholarships to Katharina Cosby from Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and Audrey Crowley of Ski and Snowboard Club Vail. The festive atmosphere continued, adding a heartwarming touch to the competitive spirit.
