Alterra Mountain Company announced the updates Thursday, highlighting new incentives for returning pass holders, expanded Colorado access, and additional discounts designed to increase flexibility and value for skiers and riders.
“This season, Ikon Pass holders enjoyed an array of new and improved infrastructure and services around the Ikon Pass community, including 17 new lifts, three gondolas, terrain expansions, lodges and amenities, upgraded snowmaking, and one of the largest ski expansions in history at Deer Valley Resort in Utah,” said Matt Bowers, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Alterra Mountain Company. “Winter 26/27 will bring new destinations to explore and new offerings that provide Ikon Pass holders with even more flexibility, allowing them to chase snow and outdoor adventure across 76 premier mountain destinations around the world.”
Three Midwest Resorts Join Ikon Pass
The biggest destination news for the 2026–27 season is the addition of three Midwest ski areas:
- Snowriver Mountain Resort (Michigan)
- Lutsen Mountains (Minnesota)
- Granite Peak (Wisconsin)
Ikon Pass holders will receive seven days of access at each resort with no blackout dates, while Ikon Base Pass holders will have five days with select blackout dates. The resorts will also be available on Ikon Session Pass products.
Together with existing Midwest partners, the additions expand the pass’s footprint in the region.
“Granite Peak, Lutsen Mountains, and Snowriver Mountain Resort are known for their family-friendly environment and dedication to delivering unforgettable winter adventures and are an ideal fit for loyal and new Ikon Pass holders,” said Charles Skinner, President & Owner of Midwest Family Ski Resorts.
Expanded Colorado Access
Colorado access is also expanding for the upcoming season.
Arapahoe Basin will offer unlimited access on the Ikon Base Pass beginning in winter 2026–27. Pass holders will also be able to take advantage of Buy Now, Ride Now spring access starting April 6, 2026.
Meanwhile, Snowmass will offer five days of access on the Ikon Base Pass with select blackout dates. Combined access to all four Aspen Snowmass mountains—Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass—remains available only on the full Ikon Pass.
Another operational change for next season: reservations will no longer be required at Aspen Snowmass for Ikon Pass holders.
New Renewal Rewards Program
Returning Ikon Pass holders will have access to a new Renewal Rewards program, allowing them to choose perks including:
- Up to $25 per month in mountain credits, up to $300 total, for on-site purchases such as food, rentals, and retail
- Up to $100 credit from Backcountry.com and premium membership
- One free night award worth up to 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
- Up to two free days of Ski Butlers gear rentals

New Pricing Options for Families and Groups
Alterra also introduced several new pricing programs designed to make the pass more accessible.
Family Pricing now allows skiers and riders to save up to $100 on each child pass when purchased with an adult Ikon Pass. Child passes start at $249.
A new “Squad Pack” option allows groups of five riders ages 23–28 to purchase Ikon Base Passes for $750 each, saving $199 per pass when bought together.
Risk-Free Purchase Option
A new refundable purchase program adds additional flexibility for pass buyers.
Pass holders who do not scan their pass by Jan. 15, 2027 can receive 100% cash back. Those who scan their pass once before that date can still qualify for a 50% refund.
Bonus Mountains and Peak Perks
Two new resorts were also added to the Bonus Mountain program, which gives Ikon Pass holders two days of skiing with select blackout dates.
New bonus destinations include:
- Tamarack Resort, Idaho
- Devil’s Head Resort, Wisconsin
Additional bonus mountains include Wild Mountain and Buck Hill in Minnesota, Cranmore in New Hampshire, Jiminy Peak and Ski Butternut in Massachusetts, and Grouse Mountain in British Columbia.
Pass holders will also continue to receive Peak Perks, offering discounts and experiences with partners such as The North Face, Smartwool, icebreaker, JSX, ShipSkis, and Protect Our Winters, along with new partners including Kiehl’s, TRUBAR, CARV, AG1, and Away Luggage.
