World and Olympic downhill champion Franjo von Allmen has extended his contract with HEAD Rebels through the 2030 season.
A social media scare
On Tuesday, June 16, von Allmen had fans and media wondering whether he might leave the brand after sharing the following message on social media.
“It’s the thank-you season. What a ride it’s been… thank you HEAD Rebels for all the support. Stay tuned for the next story.”
The skiing world was eased when von Allmen and HEAD Rebels posted, “Some stories are too good to end. Proud to continue this journey together. Here’s to more victories, more milestones and many more chapters ahead. Let’s keep writing history.”
Career achievements so far
The five-time World Cup winner has had an extraordinary rise since claiming his first World Cup podium in January 2024 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
Despite not turning 25 until July 24, von Allmen has already built one of the most impressive résumés in alpine skiing.
- Downhill and Team Combined gold, with Loïc Meillard, at the 2025 Saalbach World Championships.
- Downhill, Super-G and Team Combined gold, with Tanguy Nef, at the Olympics in Bormio in February, becoming only the third man to win three Olympic alpine skiing gold medals at the same Games.
- Five World Cup wins and 15 World Cup podiums on the toughest tracks in his favorite speed disciplines.
- Two second-place Downhill season finishes behind teammate Marco Odermatt.
- Fourth in the 2024/25 Overall standings and seventh in last season’s Overall standings.
Ski Racing Media caught up with Franjo von Allmen at March’s World Cup Finals in Kvitfjell, Norway.
A successful spring for HEAD
Von Allmen joins Henrik Kristoffersen, Alice Robinson and fellow men’s speed specialist Christof Innerhofer in either extending their partnerships with HEAD or signing new agreements with the brand this spring.
HEAD Race Director Rainer Salzgeber explained why the company pursued a longer-term agreement.
“Normally, we conclude two-year contracts with the racing drivers. In Franjo’s case, however, he and we were looking for a longer-term solution.”
The likes of von Allmen’s Swiss speed teammate Justin Murisier, as well as Albert Popov, Oscar Sandvik and Laura Gauche, have all departed HEAD before the 2026/27 season, but the contract extension of von Allmen is a key signature for the HEAD WC Rebels.
More success to come?
Von Allmen’s new contract will extend his stay with HEAD until after the 2030 Olympics in France, where the Swiss racer will have the chance to defend his Downhill, Super-G and Team Combined titles.
With a home World Championships in Crans-Montana on the horizon next February, von Allmen is a contender.
On the equipment that has already helped deliver two World Championship titles and three Olympic gold medals, he may be an even stronger contender.
There is also another World Cup speed season to prepare for and von Allmen’s biggest goal is to take a World Cup title.
Standing in his way is fellow Swiss champion Marco Odermatt. The battle for a crystal globe and more World Championship success is certainly on, creating one of the most compelling rivalries on the men’s alpine tour heading into next season.
