Ackerman continues roll at Rocky/Central J3 JOs; Marnos make it a family affair{mosimage}The Marno family took home two medals from the March 8 super G at the Rocky/Central J3 Junior Olympics in Vail, Colorado.
First, Anna Marno, a first-year J3 from Steamboat, took third in the women’s race, behind Aspen’s Olivia Davis and Ski Club Vail’s dominant Delainey Ackerman.
Then Anna gave her brother Max a quick course report and watched as he put the advice to good use, edging Vail’s Hunter Schleper, the winner of the downhill, by .12 to take the men’s gold. Steamboat’s Ryan McConnell was third.
For Ackerman, the victory was her second in two tries, as she was the winner in Tuesday’s downhill. Schleper came close to matching his SCV teammate, but a slightly conservative run left him looking up at Marno.
The series continues through this week with the technical events.
