Leadership appointment reinforces commitment to performance, community, and the future of mountain sport in the Pacific Northwest
Alterra Mountain Company has named Linnea Hansen as President & Chief Operating Officer of Crystal Mountain (WA), effective immediately. Hansen will report to Ron Cohen, Regional Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President, Mountain Division – Western.
For the ski industry—and particularly the alpine racing community—Crystal Mountain holds a unique position as a high-performance venue in the Pacific Northwest. Hansen’s appointment signals a continued focus on operational excellence, athlete development environments, and elevated guest experiences at one of Washington’s most important mountains.
Hansen brings more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning hospitality, global marketing, and resort operations. Most recently serving as Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Crystal Mountain, she has been instrumental in strengthening community ties, enhancing the guest experience, and aligning cross-functional operations across the resort.
“Linnea understands what makes Crystal Mountain special—not just as a destination, but as a community and a proving ground for skiers,” said Ron Cohen. “Her leadership will be key as we continue to invest in the mountain experience, from high-performance training environments to the everyday guest journey.”
Crystal Mountain’s terrain, vertical, and proximity to Seattle have long made it a hub for competitive skiers and regional race programs. Under Hansen’s leadership, the resort is expected to further evolve its role within the broader North American ski ecosystem, balancing high-level sport with accessible, year-round mountain experiences.
“I’m honored to step into this role and continue working alongside the incredible Crystal team,” said Hansen. “Crystal Mountain has a deep connection to its skiing roots, and I’m committed to building on that legacy—supporting athletes, strengthening operations, and delivering experiences that inspire everyone who comes here.”
Located adjacent to Mt. Rainier National Park, Crystal Mountain is Washington’s largest ski resort, offering 2,600 acres of terrain and one of the most dynamic alpine environments in the region. Its combination of steep terrain, elevation, and accessibility continues to make it a key destination for both competitive and recreational skiers.
