The last day of an early-season NorAm men’s series was held today (Nov.30) in Aspen, Colorado.

U.S. Ski Team athlete Tommy Ford was on the podium again today in the giant slalom (third in yesterday’s GS), but this time on the top.  It was Ford’s second NorAm win of his career and his fourth podium finish. Ford was in second place after first run behind Cyprien Richard who failed to finish the second run.  Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Grange (winner of yesterdays NorAm) came in second place and was twenty-two hundredths off of Ford’s time. Third place went to Thomas Fanara of France who was eight tenths from the win.

The next American to finish was Will Gregorak of the U.S. Ski Team finishing in fourth place, just two-one hundredths from the podium. Nolan Kasper rounded out the top-ten in tenth place.

The women had their second day of NorAm racing in Loveland, Colo. today (Nov.30).  U.S. Ski Teamer Sarah Schleper crushed the field winning both runs with a total time of (1:37.26), almost seven-tenths of a second over Canadian Brittany Phelan. Third place went to Marion Bertrand of France with a total time of 1:38.03.

The next Americans to cross the finish line were U.S. Ski Team’s Resi Stiegler in fourth place, and Megan McJames in ninth.

Young super-star Mikaela Shiffrin of Burke Mountain Academy finished in tenth place, making a huge move from the 75th start position. Today was Shiffrin’s fourth F.I.S. race of her career and second NorAm, with both NorAm finishes in the top 15.

The women will move over to Aspen, Colo. tomorrow (Dec. 1) for the first or two NorAm giant slaloms of the season.
