When 2015 World Cup overall winner Anna Fenninger returns to competition at the start of the 2016-17 ski season, she’ll be racing under a new name. The Olympic gold medalist wed her longtime boyfriend, Manuel Veith, in a private ceremony on April 16, 2016 in Austria.

Fenninger missed the entire 2015-16 season after sustaining a torn ACL during training for the opening race of the winter in Soelden, Austria. She is expected to return for the season opener this coming October.

“Trust your heart and the rest is magic. We got married. And when I return to the slopes, I will do that as Anna Veith. It is very important to me to take my husband’s name. For me, a sign of deep affection,” Fenninger wrote on her Facebook page.

Manuel Veith competed on the Austrian Snowboard Team from 2001-2013 in parallel racing. He claimed one World Cup victory, in 2007 at Limone Piemonte, Italy, and represented Austria at four World Championships. He retired from competition in the summer of 2013 to work for his family’s business in the hotel and hospitality industry.
