ARE, Sweden — NBC will televise 90 minutes of downhill race coverage today at 2:30 p.m. ET from the 2007 Alpine World Ski Championships.
The action from both the men and women's downhilll in Are includes Lindsey Kildow and Julia Mancuso going for their second medal of the championships.
Olympic champion Julia Mancuso has a collection of racing bibs and a couple of helmets that she's looking to auction to help two of her favorite causes, the World Wildlife Fund global warming program and Right to Play, which helps bring sports to under-developed nations. Mancuso, 22, is enjoying a (U.S.) record-breaking season that includes her first World Cup victory and five consecutive World Cup top-3s.
The auction of some of the gear — including the helmet she was wearing in December when she won her first World Cup, a downhill in Val d'Isere, France — begins today (Saturday) with full details on https://juliamancuso.net/index.htm. Bidders may take a look at the autographed bibs and the requested price, which obviously can be upped at any time.
