It’s officially summer on the Palmer Glacier in Mt. Hood, Oregon, and that can only mean two things; summer camps and ski testing. Also Huck Shakes. Okay, maybe three things…

Whether you are headed North to Oregon or South to Mammoth Mountain, California, for your summer skiing needs, top ski brands will be on location with full quivers of race gear for your testing pleasure. Testing locations will also be staffed with brand experts to help you get the most out of your summer testing experience. For the who, what, when, where, and why of ski testing in the United States this summer, check out our full list of test centers below!

ATOMIC

This summer, Atomic will ride the wave of World Cup victories and Overall World Cup titles right into the summer ski-testing season. They will have more testing than ever before with the ability to customize test programs for clubs and individual racers. Try the Redster Skis — especially the updated Junior G9 GS and S9 SL skis along with our full line of Redster World Cup boots. Atomic is also bringing back and relaunching the STI Boot which will come in a 130, 110, 90 and 70 flex.

Visit Atomic downstairs at the Mount Hood Alpine Racing Center daily Noon to 5:00 pm from June 12-July 14 (closed July 4).

BLIZZARD/TECNICA

Blizzard and Tecnica will be putting the RAD back in radius in Mammoth and Mt. Hood this summer with full test fleets of Firebird Race skis and boots at the Firebird Test Center. Our testing will begin in Mammoth in early May and transition to sparking arcs on top of Palmer glacier mid June through July 12th.

In Mammoth from May 5-June 10, skis will be located upstairs in the Mammoth Competition Center.

In Mt. Hood from June 18-July 12, skis will be located at the Valian Ski Shop in Government Camp.

HEAD

Come join the World Cup Rebels team this summer at Mt. Hood! The official Head Test Center will be located in the Mount Hood Alpine Racing Center at 88786 E. Government Camp Loop. Come on by to demo next year’s Head skis and boots. Their fun and knowledgeable staff will be led by Cameron Smith and Matt Larson. Logan Slattery (UNH), Max Bervy (CU) and Brad Underhill (KMS) will be working at the test center as well. They will be officially open June 12th-July 13th, however, they will also have demo skis available before and after with the support of Bob Olsen at Mount Hood Alpine Racing Center.

ROSSIGNOL/LANGE/DYNASTAR/LOOK

After developing a new racing plate, Rossignol/Lange/Dynastar/Look have followed it up with a new evolution in Rocker Bindings. This new binding, called the ROCKER RACE, is available in maximum DINs of 12, 15, and 18 and has a wedge under the heel to create more power at the top of the turn but the same rocker motion you are used to for a smooth and fast release at the bottom of the turn and transition.

The Rossignol/Lange/Dynastar/Look test center will be located on Government Camp’s Main St. in the trailers near Mt. Hood Academy, across form Collins Lake and will be open from June 9-July 9. This is the same location as the past 3 years.  Rossignol/Lange/Dynastar/Look will have skis at Mammoth as well until the end of June.

FISCHER

Swing by the Fischer Test center this summer and give yourself a chance to try some of the fastest skis on the circuit. With Fischer’s continuing success of the RC4 race skis and growing popularity and successes of the Podium boot across the board, Fischer is sure to find the right set up for you! The test center will be located in Government Camp’s Summit House at 90255 Government Camp Loop.

VOLKL/MARKER/DALBELLO

All the way from the World Cup to the local club level, Marker Dalbello Völkl gives racers the opportunity to ski faster and receive better service. During the summer testing season, their Mammoth Mountain and Government Camp test centers offer the chance to find the perfect setup for the 2o19-20 racing season. Come test the Racetiger skis, DRS boots, and Marker Xcell bindings, including the brand new DRS 75 Junior race boot. You can also get a first look at the new Xcomp 18 World Cup racing binding. Keep on Racing!

The Mammoth test center will be open from May 6-June 21 and is located in the Mammoth Mountain Lodge parking lot. In Mt. Hood, the test center will be located above Charlie’s Mountain View restaurant on Main Street and will be open June 7-July 27.
