Austrian speed specialist Stefanie Moser joins the ranks of the currently injured skiers after a training crash in La Parva, Chile, damaged both of her knees. An examination by team doctor Dr. Steurer and an MRI conducted at the Clinica Alemana in Santiago revealed a rupture of the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in the right knee and a rupture of the meniscus in the left knee, as well as bone splintering in the right middle finger which has been treated with a splint.

Moser will travel home with her team on Saturday as originally planned and will receive treatment by the team physiotherapists in the meantime. The 27 year old is expected to be sidelined for several weeks. She suffered a torn knee ligament in a downhill training run crash at Val d’Isere last December and didn’t return to competition until March.
