Last week, French World Cup skier Margot Bailet announced that she had to cut her South American training camp short due to an injury–a tear in her adductor.
After returning home and undergoing further evaluation, Bailet found out that she will miss the entire 2017-18 season. In addition to the initial diagnosis, she has also suffered a torn ACL in her left knee.
“I thought I was recovering for only 6 weeks, and I have to admit, it’s a rough shot!,” she shared on Facebook. “Now a new hard and long challenge awaits me.”
Bailet has had several World Cup top 10 finishes in her career, coming close to a podium position on two occasions with a fourth-place finish in the 2015 alpine combined at Bankso, Bulgaria, and a fourth-place finish in the 2015 downhill at Lake Louise, Canada.
