Austrian skier Romed Baumann has switched from Salomon to Blizzard.

“It is now so fixed,” Baumann said on his webpage. “I will in the next two years and hopefully much longer go with Blizzard skis.” He said testing had gone very well and he was impressed with the concern showed him by race director Bernard Knauss.

“For me it is a great honor to be with a tradition like Blizzard and I am sure that my success is an arduous path to proceed with the entire Blizzard team.

Baumann has two Cup victories, both in combined, one from Sestriere in 2009 and one from Chamonix last season. He has placed on Cup podiums in five combineds, three downhills and a super G. He was fifth in GS at the Vancouver Olympics and was fourth in downhill at the 2011 World Championships at Garmisch.

He had been with Salomon since 2008 when he switched from Fischer.
