After a long, hard season, Sofia Goggia finally stood at the top of the podium in her first World Cup win of the season in Crans Montana, where she won the downhill by 0.36 seconds over Switzerland’s Joana Haehlen. Lara Gut-Behrami rounded out the podium for Switzerland in third, 0.46 seconds back from Goggia.
Continuing their streak from the World Championships, Austria was unable to break onto the podium. Their best finish came from Nicole Schmidhofer in fourth, 0.52 seconds back from Gut-Behrami.
The United State’s lone representative, Alice Merryweather, finished 2.17 seconds off the podium in 19th place overall.
