Consider joining a GMVS Junior Development camp to make a breakthrough in your skiing before the season begins. Throughout the year, GMVS offers several camps for aspiring ski racers who want to gain important technical and tactical skills, or experience GMVS first hand. We offer a variety of opportunities throughout the year when you can visit the GMVS campus, train at our amazing facilities, and/or travel with our coaches and racers.

November Camp

Camp Dates: November 20-26, 2024

Location: Copper Mtn, CO (A-Basin possible)

Open to U10s and older, this camp is designed to provide early season, on-snow mileage focused on technical free skiing and gate training. The goal of this camp is to get athletes back on snow and work on fundamental skills including fore/aft balance, carving, and pole plants (among other skills). Tentative Daily Camp Schedule

The first two days (21st and 22nd) we will free ski and technical free ski at Copper or A-Basin.  Athletes will be on-snow with coaches from 9am-3/3:30pm, with a snack and lunch break. After skiing we’ll watch video and do some light activity including stretching and agility, etc.  The day will wrap up at 4:45pm.

On the 23rd-25th we will technical free ski in the morning and ski gates in the afternoon.  We’ll be on-snow 9am-4pm with a snack and lunch break, and wrap up the day around 4:45pm.

Holiday Race Camp

Camp Dates: December 18-20, 2024

Location: Sugarbush, VT

This three-day high-volume training opportunity is open to U.S. Ski and Snowboard and Alpine Canada registered U12 and U14 racers and will be focused on technical free skiing, as well as Slalom and Giant Slalom drills and exercises.

The daily schedule is packed with activities that will jumpstart the young ski racer’s season. Each day will include a technical free ski block and a gate-training block on the famed Kelly Brush Race Area. After skiing, campers will go to the GMVS campus for physical conditioning , video analysis, and tuning clinics in the Racing Performance Center (GMVS’ world-class athletic facility). 

The Holiday Race Camp coaching staff is primarily made up of full-time GMVS coaches.

We will follow the Holiday Race Camp experience with the Hobart Memorial Open U12/U14 race on Saturday, December 21. Stay tuned for further details.

Tentative Daily Camp Schedule

8:30am – 3:00pm: On snow at Sugarbush Resort’s Mt. Ellen

3:00pm – 6:00pm: Evening activities including goal setting, guest speakers, SkillsQuest, regen, and more.

6:00pm Camper pick up

Power Race Camps

Camp Dates:

January 14-16, 2025 (SL Focus)

February 4-6, 2025 (GS Focus)

March 11-13, 2025 (SL Focus)

These three-day camps are designed to be intense training periods, focusing on one discipline at a time, aligned with the NVC race schedule. Camps run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and include a comprehensive technical progression with video analysis and timing. These camps are designed for U12 and U14 athletes.
