Michael got his third slalom crown on his 27th birthday. Britt, 29, added her eleventh title by winning the wind-delayed super G.

Marie-Michele Gagnon got the combined win, her first national title, with a fantastic slalom run after having suffered a .04 set-back for the slalom title on Saturday.

For Michael, racing at Mont Ste Anne, the win came over Trevor White, a 25 year old who got his first World Cup points this season.

“Mike is such a solid skier that even when he is not skiing great he is still fast,” said White. “You have to be aggressive and take a lot of risk. I did that today and I was close, just didn’t quite have it,” he said.

Janyk said, “Any time you can win a race, especially at the Canadian Championships it’s a great day,” but running 30th in the second run with spring conditions presented some real challenges.

Patrick Biggs finished third in a time of 1:53.65.

The women competed at LeMassif, and high winds forced a delayed start. That was of little concern to Britt Janyk as her only World Cup win came in stormy weather was well.

“It feels good to come out and put into the race what I have been doing in training. It’s a great hill here, it’s got a steep pitch it’s got a jump and a lot of terrain. It’s right up there with a World Cup level super-G,” said Janyk.

“I haven’t been here for a couple years. It’s a beautiful spot and they put on great races,” she said.
 
Larisa Yurkiw got the super G silver with Marie-Pier Préfontaine third.

Gagnon sat seventh after the super-G, but skied away with the super combined championship.

“I am happy with this result. I didn’t expect the super combined title this week. It’s not really what I came to achieve. I was actually pretty disappointed with my super-G run so I gave it all I had in my slalom run and it worked out,” said the 19-year-old Gagnon.
