Canada's Bourque likely gone for season

Nov 29, 2008

It appears Canada has lost Francois Bourque for the season.

The 24 year old Quebecois was injured while warming up for the final training run of the first World Cup downhill of the season, in his home country at Lake Louise.

Preliminary medical evaluation by Canadian team doctor Christopher Irving indicated a probable torn ACL of his left knee, an injury Irving says is typically followed by a six month recovery and rehabilitation. That prognosis was confirmed by an MRI in Calgary later in the day Friday.

It appears, he will not be racing again this season.
