Canceled women’s events from Yanqing rescheduled in Val di Fassa, Italy
The cancelled women’s World Cup events in Yanqing, China have been rescheduled in Val di Fassa, Italy, the FIS announced Tuesday. The events are scheduled for February 27-28 with the following program:
- Downhill Training, Thursday, Feb. 25
- Downhill Training, Friday, Feb. 26
- Downhill, Saturday, Feb. 28
- Super-G, Sunday, Feb. 27
The races in China were canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak and mandatory 14-day quarantine for travelers to that country.
This will be the first time the women’s World Cup has touched down at the Italian venue, but it’s no stranger to competition. The La VolatA track hosted World Junior Championships in 2019. It’s also played host to Europa Cups and FIS races over several years.
