For the first installment of of the Colorado Snowsports Museum’s “Footage Fridays,” the museum travels to Garmisch in 1978 for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. This film features the men’s and women’s races. Notable athletes include Cindy Nelson (Hall of Fame Class of 2002), Phil Mahre, Bernard Russi, Jean-Claude Killy, Annemarie Moser-Pröll, and Pete Patterson.
The film was produced and Directed by Joe Jay Jalbert and Kim Takal. The production team included Renee Broekman, Eddie Salier, John Alper, Ken Campbell, Gege Languepin, and Steve Collin.
The film was digitized in 2012 from 16mm film. Audio cuts out at: 14:44-16:06, 16:33-17-59, 18:07-19:03, and 22:55-23:41.
